Veteran Gives Bizarre Reason Why Fans Will Pick Brock Lesnar Over Bobby Lashley

Brock Lesnar & Bobby Lashley

The WWE rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley goes all the way back to their first one-on-one meeting at the 2022 Royal Rumble.

On that occasion, it was Lashley who scored the win via a helping hand from Roman Reigns. Fast forward to October and the pair found themselves at odds again when Lesnar returned to WWE and attacked Lashley who was the United States Champion.

This led to a rematch at Crown Jewel where Lesnar picked up the win, but it was the All-Mighty who left his rival laying after the match. After the defeat, Lesnar disappeared again, only returning to attack Lashley on the 30th-anniversary special of Monday Night Raw on January 23rd. At the Royal Rumble, Lashley eliminated Lesnar and the pair met face-to-face on Raw on February 6th when The Beast called out the two-time WWE Champion.

The confrontation, via a joke about Lesnar thinking about Lashley while in bed with his wife, saw a challenge made for Elimination Chamber.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s WWE RAW Review, former WWE writer Vince Russo gave his thoughts on the angle. Russo claimed that fans will gravitate towards Lesnar as Lashley isn’t on his level.

“I don’t have a problem with babyface vs. babyface match. I don’t have a problem with a heel vs. heel match. But here’s the problem. If these guys are both babyfaces going in, bro they have not built Lashley enough to be at the level of the babyface that Brock is. If they were there like this and it was a tough call? It’s not a tough call. Borck, you know, the good old boy out there with the whole line, Lashley, is not up to that level.”

Fans Relate To “Good Old Boy” Brock Lesnar

Expanding further, Russo stated that fans won’t cheer for Lashley as by turning up in a nice suit he looks like he earns too much money.

“I talk about this with Cody Rhodes all the time. You’ve got an average fan in the crowd. The average income of a wrestling fan is in the median range, if we are lucky. It is median and below. You’ve got a good old boy with a cowboy hat, and you’ve got a guy coming out in a suit, looking like he’s got all the money. Right there, you are tipping the scales of who I want to win this match. And that’s not fair to Lashley. If you really want him to get over as a babyface, if that’s what you’re trying to do, I don’t think you’re doing a very good job,”

It has been confirmed that Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley will meet for a contract signing on the February 13th edition of Raw.
