Varsity Blondes Officially Sign With AEW

The promising duo of Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr, otherwise known as the Varsity Blondes, have officially signed with All Elite Wrestling.

Both men have been wrestling for AEW since last summer, with Garrison making his debut in June and Pillman following shortly thereafter in July.

The team made their collective debut on the July 29th edition of AEW Dark, where they fell to Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR.

Since then, they’ve gone on to amass a positive record of sixteen wins and four losses as a team, and have consistently placed within the company’s tag team rankings system.

Their biggest moment to date came earlier this year when they challenged the Young Bucks for the AEW Tag Team Championships on the May 13th edition of Dynamite.

Although unsuccessful in that attempt, it’s clear that AEW management have seen enough in The Blondes to warrant crystallising their relationship.

It was reported that Pillman Jr was still tied to Major League Wrestling throughout the duration of his AEW run, hence the delay in moving the team to the ‘full time’ roster.

There is no word yet on whether Julia Hart, the third member of the team, has had her deal upgraded to full time or not, but given that the company is now on the road again, it will be interesting to see which of the many talents that have competed on Dark or Dark Elevation over the last twelve months remain with the company.
