Election Day may have been on November 8th, but results from the polls are still being counted in a number of key races, and there’s no shortage of political analysis as to the way the results went. As of now, the majority of news outlets are projecting a Democratic win in the Senate, meaning that Republican leader Mitch McConnell will not become Senate majority leader as members of his party had hoped.
Speaking on Face the Nation, Arkansas senator Tom Cotton discussed McConnell’s party leadership, saying that no one has challenged him to become the face of the Republican party. He then quoted none other than WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair to illustrate his point.
“The great wrestling champion Ric Flair used to say, ‘To be the man, you’ve gotta beat the man.’ And so far, no one’s had the nerve to step forward and challenge Senator McConnell, so I support Senator McConnell. I support the other slate of candidates for our legislative elections.”

Ric Flair Recently Named The Two Best Three-Match Performers In WWE History
Ric Flair’s time as The Man may be in the past as he wrestled his last match back in July, but he’s been keeping an eye on the current landscape of WWE and had high praise for Logan Paul after his WWE Crown Jewel match with Roman Reigns. Speaking on a recent episode of his To Be the Man podcast (available early via AdFreeShows), Ric Flair compared Paul’s breakout success to that of former SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee, calling the two men the best three-match performers he’d ever seen.
“You know, believe it or not, I can answer that question for you and say the answer is yes. It’s either him or Pat McAfee. And I think he might be better than bet McAfee. I mean, when I watched Pat McAfee in NXT I could not believe it. And everything was done when Pat wrestled too for not for not having that time, you know, those repetitions and I’m not sure how much practice is put into it.
But I mean, they’re [Paul brothers] athletic as hell. And once again, I’m telling you both those Paul brothers are tough kids? Just to get in the ring with Anderson Silva You have to be tough. Just don’t get in the ring with Mike Tyson.”
