More details have been revealed about the upcoming WWE 2K22 video game, including information on the MyGM Mode, available arenas, and the huge backstage area.
With the March 11th release of WWE 2K22 fast approaching, some of those lucky enough to get their hands on preview editions of the game have been sharing more details of what fans can expect from the first offering from the 2K series since October 2019.
One of the things gamers have been most excited about is the return of the MyGM mode to the franchise. This feature allows fans to take control of their own rosters of WWE Superstars.
YouTube channel Smacktalks has provided a preview of the much-anticipated mode, including how the WWE 2K22 draft will work. The basic draft rules are as follows:
- Each GM will start with a budget of $2,750,000
- GMs take turns drafting one after the other, starting with Player 1
- There are 8 rounds of drafting, after which you can opt out
- The game can provide recommendations on who to draft next
The cost aspect is used throughout the GM mode, with money being needed for everything from the initial draft, to the arenas you can afford to use for shows, right down to match types that require more than just the wrestlers themselves.
As with previous entries in the series, once you have determined your card for a show, you can either skip matches, watch them, or even play them yourself. There are also ‘Commissioner Goals’ which, once achieved, can earn you boosters for your shows.
In addition to all of this, comicbook.com has noted that you also need to keep your Superstars’ morale up as they react to the decisions you make.
Besides the GM feature, The 101 has provided a list of arenas featured in the game, which can be seen below:

Looking at the new backstage area used for Hardcore-style Matches, ThisGenGaming noted that it is large, spanning two levels joined by a ladder. However, it is limited in only allowing two Superstars within the area, and there is only one large room rather than the multiple rooms boasted by previous instalments.
WWE 2K22 will be released on March 11th with the choice of the standard, deluxe, or nWo 4-life editions.
