A new report has offered an update on two huge potential returns on the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw.

Ahead of the April 25th episode of Monday Night Raw it had been reported that both Asuka and Mustafa Ali could be about to return to action.

Former Raw Women’s Champion Asuka hasn’t been seen inside a WWE ring since Money In The Bank on July 18th, 2021. While there has been no official confirmation from WWE regarding the reason for Asuka’s absence, it has been reported that the Japanese star was dealing with an injury.

In the lead-up to the 2022 Royal Rumble, it was suggested that the former champion had been cleared to return and there was a chance that she would be appearing at the event. However, the show came and went without the former NXT star. A report following the Royal Rumble noted that Asuka was considered “not physically ready” to return.

Meanwhile, back in January, Ali posted a video on social media explaining that he had requested his release from WWE. The star hasn’t wrestled on WWE television since being defeated by Drew McIntyre on the October 29th, 2021, edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

Following the news that Mustafa Ali had asked to leave the company, it was revealed that he was spurred into action following a “heated argument” with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. The disagreement was was in relation to Ali’s creative direction and lack of action in recent months.

However, it was later reported that Ali’s request had been denied, and his deal with WWE had “multiple years” remaining.

It has now been reported by Fightful Select, that both Asuka and Ali are still scheduled to appear on the show. It was noted that Ali will be involved in a segment with The Miz, while Asuka will be interacting with Becky Lynch, who is making her own return to the show.

It has also been reported that a WWE Hall of Famer is set to make a special appearance on the show.
