As the WWE landscape continues to change seemingly by the day with shock returns seemingly happening on every show a new report has offered an update on what it all means for Roman Reigns.
On the episode of SmackDown before SummerSlam Drew McIntyre defeated Sheamus to book himself a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
24 hours later at the summer spectacular, Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar in an utterly chaotic Last Man Standing Match to retain the gold, setting up a clash with McIntyre at Clash At The Castle.
However, the shock return of Karrion Kross on the August 5th edition of the blue brand where he interrupted a segment featuring Reigns and McIntyre got fans wondering whether the former NXT star could now be in the World Title mix. On SmackDown, accompanied by Scarlett, Kross attacked McIntyre, while his partner in crime placed an hourglass in the ring, seemingly counting down Reigns’ title reign.
Following reports that the two-time NXT Champion will be prominently featured following his return, rumours spread that he may be involved in the huge Clash In The Castle main event.
However, a new report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has claimed that this will not be the case.
“Based on what we are told, unless we are back in the plans change regularly mode, Karrion Kross won’t be added to the Reigns vs. McIntyre match. It did appear that would be the case the way the angle ran on Smackdown. But as of press time it was still listed this way,”
Karrion Kross was released by WWE back in November after what was considered by many to be an underwhelming spell on the main roster. During this period he appeared without Scarlett, despite the couple working together in NXT. Scarlett was also released at the same time as her partner.
