After weeks of speculation, Ric Flair’s opponent for his last ever match is set to be revealed very soon.
‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair will strap on his wrestling boots one last time as part of the Starrcast V event in Nashville on July 31st. For weeks, Flair has been training vigorously to get back into ring shape and has shown nothing but pure confidence when talking about the upcoming match.
There have been reports of Flair wrestling a six-man tag match with the Rock N’ Roll Express. However, that match appears to be off the table as Ricky Morton will now be involved in a tag match with his son Kerry instead.
There were also rumours of Flair’s former rival, Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat, playing some kind of a role, but Steamboat has since come out to deny any involvement.
While fans are still left in the dark as to who Ric Flair’s opponent will be, there is a bit of news that could shine some light on the situation.
It was confirmed during the second episode of the documentary series promoting Flair’s final match that his opponent will be revealed next week. No further details were given as to whether the foe is someone who has a history with Flair or not.
At one point, there was speculation that Flair’s opponent could be ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan. However, it now appears Hogan won’t have any involvement.
For now, all that fans can do is wait until next week to see who exactly gets the honour of wrestling ‘The Nature Boy’ in his final match.
