Update On WWE’s Interest In Re-Signing Trinity Fatu FKA Naomi

Naomi ((Trinity Fatu) & Sasha Banks

From the moment that Trinity Fatu walked out of the May 16th, 2022 episode of Monday Night Raw alongside Mercedes Mone, many have wondered if and when she will return.

The star hasn’t wrestled on television since teaming with Mone on the May 13th episode of SmackDown, while her most recent match to date came two days later at a live event. Despite this, she has remained in the news and a constant source of speculation.

Although the former SmackDown Women’s Champion has been linked with a whole host of promotions, there have also been numerous reports suggesting she could return to WWE. Interestingly, a new report examining WWE’s unofficial hiring freeze has given an update on where that speculation came from.

The report from Fightful Select noted that WWE had been interested in bringing the star back, but a deal wasn’t made. Any plans for WWE to sign new talent are reportedly on hold while the deal to decide the company’s future is being finalised. It was noted by someone within the company that “we haven’t been hiring people, but we’ve been talking to people.”

Trinity Fatu Hits Back At Reports On Wrestling Future

Trinity Fatu recently took to social media to fire back at reports over her future. It was reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that a move for the star to NJPW failed to materialise despite interest after it was deemed that she would cost too much. In response, the former Naomi shared the report and wrote “not true.”

As speculation reigns supreme it was revealed that the star was seen backstage at Game Changer Wrestling’s ‘Scene of the Crime’ show on April 22nd.
