Update On WWE Plans For Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes

A new report has given an update on the current plans for WWE’s newest signing Cody Rhodes.

On March 18th it was reported that Cody Rhodes had finally put pen to paper on a deal which will see him return to WWE for the first time since 2016.

Rhodes had become a free agent back in late 2021 after his most recent AEW contract expired. While the American Nightmare continued to wrestle for the company into the new year, he eventually announced that he and his wife Brandi had left AEW on February 15th.

From that moment on Rhodes was linked with a return to where he started his career, but as more time passed, things appeared to be far from straightforward. Although numerous hints were dropped across multiple episodes of Monday Night Raw regarding his impending arrival, it was reported in early March that talks had broken down.

However, it now appears that a deal has been done, and Rhodes will return to WWE television in a matter of weeks. Furthermore a new report from Fightful Select has offered an update for plans regarding his debut.

The report notes that although those close to Rhodes denied he was travelling to WrestleMania, WWE sources claim that discussions about flying Rhodes in private have been held as a way to avoid publicity. In addition, Rhodes is scheduled to be at the Raw after WrestleMania 38 on April 4th.

It is said that numerous top level stars are also excited at the prospect of Rhodes’ arrival.

The report appears to back up earlier suggestions that the former TNT Champion would be part of the raw brand going forwards.
