Speculation reigns supreme as fans debate what will top the card at WWE Money In The Bank.
Michael Cole caused a stir during the June 30th episode of SmackDown. While running down the matches set for Money In The Bank, Cole referred to the match between Cody Rhodes and Dominik Mysterio as the “main event,” and the graphic for the match was shown last during the rundown.
The comment surprised many fans who feel that either of the Money In The Bank Ladder Matches or the Bloodline Civil War could take top billing. Others have suggested that if Mysterio and Rhodes do main event, it backs up reports that Brock Lesnar’s return to the company could be imminent.
A new update has now arrived via Fightful Select, with a report noting that when WWE was asked in an official capacity about the main event, the company didn’t give an answer. However, some within WWE confirmed there was advertising referencing a “Triple Main Event,” something they have done more and more in recent years.
Another source added that “any more heat on Dominik Mysterio is a good thing” in reference to the comment by Cole.
The report closes by noting that there had been talk of the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match opening with Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa vs. The Usos closing the show. A source stated that the running order would likely be finalised after SmackDown.
