When WarGames was first brought to WWE in NXT, it was announced by William Regal in a way that became beloved by fans. Every time there was a WarGames bout to be announced, Regal would take the microphone to name the bout with an unmatched intensity.
However, since Regal is now signed to AEW, he wasn’t on-hand to announce the debut of the double-caged match at Survivor Series this year. In the hours ahead of the event, Tripe H recognised this and posted a video on social media showing every time Regal uttered the words.

It is well-known that the pair have been close friends for many years and, ever since Vince McMahon retired and Triple H took the creative reigns of WWE earlier this year, speculation has mounted that he will rehire William Regal as soon as he can. The tweet sent before Survivor Series only added fuel to the fire.
William Regal won’t return to WWE for some time
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed the situation, noting that it is something that has been talked about.
“I would just say that when his contract is up, it would not surprise me. Tony can make him a better offer and all that. It is certainly something that has been discussed. I will just say that.”
Regal is still under contract with AEW for some time yet, with Meltzer saying it runs for several more months. However, he also admitted it is “not a non-story”.
“His contract is not up for a long time. I think was only a one-year deal…I was told a date but it might be wrong but it was still months away. Several months away. I don’t know what the situation is. I think it will probably be all explained.”
“It’s not a non-story. That’s probably the best way to put it right now.”
