The true nature of Vince McMaho’s involvement in WWE remains a closely guarded secret, but the veil may have been lifted, at least a little, on the March 6th episode of Raw.
John Cena was back in town and on the show, along with Logan Paul and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus.
Once the news broke that McMahon was backstage, it was reported that he was there to see Cena, who he has met numerous times outside of WWE in recent months.
However, as suspected by many, there might have been a little bit more to it. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that while Triple H remained in charge, McMahon was in the Gorilla position “all night.” Meltzer added that McMahon is also “doing more than they’re letting on.”
“He was in Gorilla all night, so what does that tell you? He wasn’t barking orders at people or anything like that, but he was in Gorilla all night and I was told – they tell you he’s only there to visit John Cena, that’s the story, but there’s more to it than that.
[…] He’s doing more than they’re letting on, but the person who was in control was Levesque (Triple H). It’s not like he was there in charge and doing stuff, but it’s not like he was just visiting John Cena and saying hi to a few people and then left. That didn’t happen either. The truth is a little bit in the middle”
