Update On When Riddle Is Expected To Return To The Ring

Matt Riddle kicking Seth Rollins

After being sidelined at SummerSlam, Riddle is expected to return to the ring soon to face Seth Rollins.

WWE announced that the Riddle and Seth Rollins match was canceled before SummerSlam. The reason why is because Riddle supposedly suffered a “brachial plexus injury” after an attack by Rollins on the Raw before the show.

Despite being taken off the card, the former Raw Tag Team Champion made an unannounced appearance at SummerSlam and challenged Rollins to a fight. The two brawled for a moment before Rollins delivered another Stomp onto the Original Bro. It was reported that the “injury” was a way to postpone the match to a later date.

According to Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer, Riddle may be ready to return soon. The report noted that the Original Bro is set to appear at this weekend’s house shows and that he’ll have the chance to get a measure of revenge against the man who injured him.

“Riddle is expected back at the house shows this weekend to face Rollins.”

Seth Rollins briefly addressed the “injury” on this week’s edition of Raw, suggesting that the Original Bro would be out of action for a long time. He was then interrupted by The Street Profits, who made reference to his defeat against Cody Rhodes at Hell in a Cell. This led to Rollins facing off against Montez Ford, in which Rollins emerged victorious.

As for what’s next for Riddle, reports suggested that the match between him and Rollins could happen at Clash At The Castle. However, nothing has been confirmed at this point.
