A new report has offered fresh insight into the situation regarding The Young Bucks sending out “feelers” to potentially join WWE.
It was reported on 10 September by the Wrestling Observer’s Ryan Frederick that The Young Bucks had sent out feelers to a talent within WWE, seemingly interested in signing once their AEW deals expire. This is expected to be in January 2024, which would mark five years since AEW was launched.
Frederick followed up on his initial report through the F4WOnline message board, saying he had heard the news from multiple sources and it was “100% true”. However, he also said he doesn’t believe the information to be “newsworthy” as the pair were likely just maximising their leverage for contract negotiations.
He went on to claim that it was something The Young Bucks were always likely to do as it is “just plain common sense” for them to find out what their options are.
Now, Fightful Select has offered some additional information on the situation, with one of their sources in WWE indicating that the Jacksons had indeed asked to speak to someone in WWE management.
However, others close to the duo claimed they hadn’t been given any indications of that being the case, even going as far as to question who The Young Bucks would even reach out to in WWE.
The report also notes someone who works with higher-ups in WWE had also heard the rumour although not confirmed it.
They believe that, because of how close the former AEW Tag Team Champions came to signing with the company in 2018, they wouldn’t have to “gauge interest” about making the move and were likely thinking about other situations in relation to becoming free agents.
