A new report has given an update on the AEW status of Max Caster.
On the August 3rd episode of AEW Dark Max Caster teamed with Anthony Bowens, Matt Hardy, & The Blade to take on The Varsity Blonds and The Sydal Brothers. Ahead of the bout Caster performed his customary battle rap style entrance aimed to hype the crowd and trash talk his opponents.
However, on this occasion Caster’s comments crossed the line for many watching at home. Caster made reference to Simone Biles’ mental health, Duke Lacrosse rape accusations and fake PCR tests among other things.
The entrance aired as normal on AEW Dark before being edited out of the on demand version of the show. Caster was also edited out of this week’s episode. The Acclaimed star also removed any references to AEW on his Twitter page.
The new report from Fightful Select notes that Caster remains with the company but his appearances are “on ice.” Later, an update to the report added that the situation is unlikely to change for the next few months whilst The Acclaimed member undergoes sensitivity training.
The promo was greeted by sizeable backlash online with AEW President Tony Khan labelling the rap as “terrible.”
Khan went on to reveal that he would be taking over the editing of both AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation.
