Aleister Black was last seen on WWE TV back in October 2020 when he moved to Smackdown as part of the WWE Draft. Now, Fightful Select have provided an update on his status in the company.
In the report, Fightful have said that Black has not even been seen backstage since his wife, Zelina Vega, was let go by WWE soon after the draft. They went on to state that a source in the company believes WWE is allowing time for any tension between the two sides to ease.
“We haven’t heard as to whether or not there are any specific issues between Black and WWE, but one person we talked to in the company seems to think that they’re letting any ill will between the two subside.”
Shortly before his absence from TV, Black had turned heel for the first time in the company following a brutal assault by Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy which saw them ram him into steel steps at ringside, injuring his eye. He would return from the incident a few weeks later and attack Kevin Owens, who he blamed for his injury since he didn’t help him when he was attacked. The two feuded for several weeks, culminating in a No Disqualification match which Black lost, ending the rivalry.
