New information has been provided on what the future plans are in wrestling for Sasha Banks.
As reported by Fightful Select, Banks is no longer with WWE. Despite still being listed on WWE’s roster page of active superstars, it is being reported that The Boss left the company “months ago.” However, as also noted by Fightful, there has been no official statement by Banks or WWE that the former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion has parted ways.
Sasha Banks Is Reportedly No Longer Under WWE Contract
Fightful have been told that Banks will be able to take bookings from other promotions from New Year’s Day 2023. It should be noted that the first day of Wrestle Kingdom 17 is January 4th 2023, an event that Sasha Banks has been reported to be making an appearance at. If the appearance at the Tokyo Dome does take place, it is expected that Banks will confront the current IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI at the event.
The report concludes by saying that the deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling has been confirmed, with the agreement being made in late November. If the rumours are true, Banks is set to become the highest paid star in the history of NJPW and STARDOM, reportedly set to earn six figures per appearance while competing in the promotion.
In terms of a possible appearance in AEW, Fightful have heard nothing regarding this, but nothing has been said that an appearance will not be happening.
If Sasha Banks, aka Mercedes Varnado, walked out of an episode of Raw that was broadcast live on Monday, May 16th with fellow WWE Superstar Naomi. Both were the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time, reportedly leaving the titles on the desk of John Laurinaitis before exiting the building. Neither Banks or Naomi have been seen on WWE TV since the infamous events that took place. The former champions have made appearances individually and together at various wrestling conventions, but are still yet to step inside the ropes of any wrestling promotion.
