Following rumours that CM Punk suffered an injury at AEW All Out, a new report has attempted to clear up if and when the new World Champion suffered the issue.
During the media scrum following AEW All Out and despite being sat just feet from AEW President Tony Khan, CM Punk opened fire on the media, AEW EVP’s, Hangman Adam Page and just about everyone who he felt had wronged him in recent months. Especially taking issue with reports and comments regarding the situation around himself and his former friend Colt Cabana.
After Punk left the press conference a brawl ensued involving the World Champion, his long-time friend Ace Steel, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. It has been reported that Punk was throwing punches with Steel allegedly throwing a chair and biting Kenny Omega.
There has been some talk that Punk suffered an injury in the incident, but that appears to not be the case. A new report from Fightful Select has revealed that while Punk may well be injured, the damage was done during his match earlier in the night with Jon Moxley.
The report notes that those close to the champion suggest the injury to his triceps occurred while performing a dive. Punk was seen icing the injury during the media scrum and was said to be “injured” before the fight that followed. The severity of the injury is unknown.
The same report also gives more information regarding the backstage fight from the Ace Steel and CM Punk side of the disagreement. It’s claimed that the Young Bucks went to Punk’s dressing room, but he didn’t answer. As a result the Jackson brothers pounded on the door, while it’s alleged they “kicked the door down.”
Ace Steel was in the room with his wife, something which is said to have contributed to him losing control. From his side he was said to be protecting his wife above all else.
Kenny Omega reportedly wasn’t as upset as others initially, although the situation got out of hand and he ended up getting bitten.
