Update On Rumored Bray Wyatt Feud With Roman Reigns

Bray Wyatt Roman Reigns

Bray Wyatt stunned the world with his return to WWE at Extreme Rules, revealing himself to have been behind the mysterious QR code clues that had been popping up on WWE programming for weeks. The next Friday on SmackDown, he cut an emotional promo before being interrupted by the masked version of himself.

Then, on October 21st the star cut another promo where things took a more sinister turn with the former Universal Champion claiming that he was ready to do “horrible, horrible things,” and would do whatever “the circle” required.

Bray Wyatt has yet to wrestle since making his return to WWE, and it remains to be seen who he’ll be feuding with first. A recent report fueled speculation that, while the program would be held off for a while, a feud between Wyatt and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns would be big business for WWE SmackDown.

“Where Would We Go From There?” – WWE Source Doesn’t Believe Bray Wyatt Vs. Roman Reigns Is Happening Soon

According to a new report from Fightful Select, however, those hoping for a feud between Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns are going to have to wait for quite some time. A source who works in WWE creative told Fightful that any claims the two were set to feud imminently were false, specifically saying, “Where would we go from there?” Another source indicated that the company had learned from Bray Wyatt’s time as The Fiend.

During his previous run with the company, Wyatt introduced the world to both the Firefly Funhouse and The Fiend, highlighting the fact that he could go from a happy children’s talk show character to someone dark and menacing in the ring. While The Fiend initially looked to be the rejuvenation Wyatt needed as he reinvented himself, the character was harmed by a series of losses, most notably losing his Universal Championship to Goldberg at WWE Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia in 2020.

If the source who spoke to Fightful is to be believed, the company seems interested in taking more care with Wyatt’s new character than they have with his past incarnations.
