Update On Roman Reigns’ WWE Status Following RAW Return

Roman Reigns makes surprise return on WWE RAW

Roman Reigns is back in action for WWE, and he’s marching his way to the top on the road to SummerSlam. With rumors and speculation on Reigns’ roster status, new information has confirmed plans for his SummerSlam season and beyond.

The Original Tribal Chief made his surprise return after Monday’s RAW main event, which saw CM Punk win a Gauntlet to earn a SummerSlam shot at World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. Reigns saved Punk and Jey Uso from an attack by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, while Paul Heyman looked on. Roman stood tall with Punk and Uso to end the show.

RAW was Reigns’ first appearance since the RAW After WrestleMania 41, where he and Punk were attacked by Breakker and Seth Rollins, right after Rollins’ WrestleMania 41 Triple Threat win over both babyfaces. Reigns was rumored to face Rollins at SummerSlam until The Visionary suffered an injury at SNME XL this past weekend. Now it’s believed that Reigns vs. Breakker will take place, or a tag team match with Roman and Main Event Jey vs. Bron and Bronson.

Roman Reigns is still a member of the SmackDown roster as of this writing, but there’s talk of a potential move back to the red brand, perhaps in the WWE Draft. Reigns’ schedule for the road to SummerSlam was officially updated today, and he’s now booked for two RAW shows: July 21 at the Toyota Center in Houston, and July 28 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit for the go-home episode.

Roman Reigns Scheduled For WWE PLEs

Roman Reigns is set to return to the WWE SummerSlam stage at the inaugural two-night event in early August at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. He missed The Biggest Party of The Summer in 2024, and in 2023 he defeated Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat match with the Undisputed Championship on the line, and recognition of Tribal Chief of The Anoa’i Family.

After SummerSlam, the next WWE PLE is Clash In Paris on August 31, and as of now, Reigns is not advertised. He’s also not currently listed for Crown Jewel: Perth on October 11. However, The Head of The Table is advertised for Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29 in San Diego.

Survivor Series will likely mark a WarGames return for Roman Reigns and other members of The Bloodline. The 2024 event saw Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, and CM Punk defeat Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu, and Bronson Reed. The Bloodline beat Team Brawling Brutes in the 2022 WarGames match.
