Update On Plans For WWE’s 2025 Draft Provided

Ex-WWE Star Looks Back On Previous Draft, Recalls Genuine Shock After Being Picked

WWE reportedly still intends to hold its annual Draft in 2025, though the exact timing remains unclear due to the company’s packed calendar of premium live events and specials.

On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio, the hosts addressed speculation surrounding this year’s Draft, confirming that it is expected to happen despite no official date being locked in.

“Plans for the draft? Yeah, I do believe so,” the report stated. “TC, I don’t think you’ve heard a date. I haven’t heard a date.”

The uncertainty is largely due to WWE’s dense upcoming event schedule, which makes it difficult to find a suitable window to hold the multi-night Draft, traditionally split across Raw and SmackDown.

“The calendar gets a little tricky here,” WrestleVotes noted. “You’re going to get Backlash next week [May 10th]. You’re going to get Saturday Night’s Main Event two weeks after that, you’re going to get Money in the Bank two weeks after that… three weeks after that, you get the Saudi Arabia show. Then, a week after that, you get the rumoured Evolution show. And then you calm down a bit before SummerSlam.”

This flurry of events, running from early May through early July, leaves limited breathing room for a Draft, which typically serves as a reset point for WWE’s roster and long-term storylines.

“So there’s a lot going on,” WrestleVotes concluded. “I don’t know exactly when and where they can pencil this Draft in, but I would expect one to happen.”

While no formal announcement has been made, the expectation of a 2025 WWE Draft remains strong. However, timing is proving to be the biggest obstacle.
