Update On Plans For WWE Hall Of Famer’s Return In Unexpected Role [Potential Spoiler]

Last week, it was reported that two WWE Hall of Famers were on their way back to WWE Raw.

Ahead of the February 6th episode of WWE Raw, WRKD Wrestling reported that Lita would be making her return that evening, and that fans could expect Trish Stratus to join her on the February 13th episode, setting the stage for the two to team up with Becky Lynch and take on Damage CTRL in trios action at the upcoming Elimination Chamber premium live event. The tweet was also endorsed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

Sure enough, as Becky Lynch was facing interference from IYO SKY during her cage match with Bayley in the main event on February 6th, the sounds of Lita’s theme rang out throughout the arena to a huge ovation from the Orlando crowd.

The Hall of Famer quickly attacked SKY and left her laying with a Twist of Fate. The distraction allowed Lynch to get the upper hand in the ring and deliver a Man-Handle Slam for the win. After the match, Lita celebrated with Lynch in the ring, a year after the pair wrestled at Elimination Chamber.

Trish Stratus To Return To WWE In Unexpected Role

Fans waiting for Trish Stratus to join Lita in making her WWE return will have to wait a bit longer according to an update from WRKD Wrestling. The latest tweet reveals that plans have changed ahead of Raw and Stratus won’t be appearing after all due to Dakota Kai being out of action after suffering an injury at the Royal Rumble. However, the report notes that the Hall of Famer is still on her way back to the company for a lengthy program, and will appear in a role that fans don’t expect.

“Hate to backtrack on our 2nd tweet ever, but plans have changed due to Dakota’s injury and Trish won’t be at Raw tonight. HOWEVER, she is absolutely on her way soon, and we can share that she will be around for a lengthy program. She definitely won’t be in a role most expect…”

Trish Stratus last wrestled at the 2019 edition of SummerSlam where she was defeated by Charlotte Flair.
