A new report provides updated information about a number of WWE belts being redesigned!
“New WWE Tag belts are described to me as being the existing design, dual plated, black strap and having a stacked, large WWE logo in the center. They also have the OLD never used tags which are the women’s tag style on colored straps. Women’s belts getting colored backing soon.”
Now, a new report from Fightful Select provides more information, noting that at least three sets of new title belts have been completed and are currently in WWE’s possession. In addition to the information provided by Dan, Fightful said that sources within WWE indicated that other design changes have been mentioned, but they were not able to get much more information on that.
Multiple WWE talent who’ve spoken with Fightful are in favor of some changes to the title belts. When asked about their preferences when it comes to a velcro vs. snap closure on the belts, talent indicated that velcro made it easier to attach and detach the belt quickly, but it wasn’t as cosmetically appealing.
Fightful also noted that there were plans in place to make changes to some title belts before Triple H’s regime took over in the wake of Vince McMahon’s retirement, but as Triple H isn’t hesitant to make changes, he’s accelerated the process. Additional cosmetic changes could be on the way throughout Raw and SmackDown, and NXT has already debuted a new logo.
