WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan is currently absent from the company’s programming due to filming commitments for a major Hollywood production, but fans may not have to wait long for her return.
Morgan requested time off last week to begin filming Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, a new feature from Neon productions. The project was officially reported by Deadline, with Morgan flying to Japan shortly thereafter to start work on the film.
Despite her absence, WWE has opted not to strip Morgan and her tag team partner Raquel Rodriguez of the Women’s Tag Team Championship. The duo reclaimed the titles on the Raw after WrestleMania 41, defeating Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria.
According to Fightful Select, Morgan’s time away from WWE will be brief. Filming for the movie is expected to wrap on Thursday, 16 May, with Morgan scheduled to return to the United States the following day. While the exact date of her on-screen return remains unconfirmed, she will miss at least one more episode of Monday Night Raw. However, she could be back in action as early as the 19 May episode.
