After Kevin Owens missed the latest edition of Monday Night Raw a new report has given an update on the former Universal Champion.
In recent weeks Kevin Owens has become a much less consistent presence on Monday Night Raw. While he has occasionally appeared on the show, he hasn’t wrestled on the red brand since June 13th when he went up against Ezekiel.
To the surprise of many, Owens also missed the August 1st episode of Raw. The show was said to be a statement of intent from new Head of Creative Triple H as he puts his ideas into action. On the show, Ciampa and Mustafa Ali were given significantly more spotlight than in recent weeks, while the women’s division was heavily featured.
Due to KO’s time working with Triple H in NXT, and general belief that he is a favourite of The Game, his absence from the show was seen as a surprise.
A new report from Fightful Select has revealed that the decision for Owens to miss the show is a creative one, and not linked to an injury. The report stated that “we’re told that creative is being cooked up for him for plans moving forward.”
When Owens signed with WWE in 2014 and was assigned to NXT the brand was headed up by Triple H. The WWE Hall of Famer was also key in the star becoming NXT Champion.
The report also suggests that Lacey Evans missed recent episodes of SmackDown as there are “no immediate creative plans” for her.
