Update On Jon Moxley’s AEW Return Date

Jon Moxley

Former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley’s return date to appear on AEW television could have been revealed according to a new report.

Back in November AEW President Tony Khan took to social media to share the news that former AEW Champion Jon Moxley would be entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program, and would be shifting his focus to recovery.

This led to Moxley having to withdraw from the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament that was eventually won by Bryan Danielson, leading to his series of bouts with Hangman Adam Page.

Now Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net has reported that Jon Moxley could be appearing on AEW television once again sooner than later:

“Multiple sources that I have spoken to have confirmed to me that Jon Moxley’s return to AEW television is imminent, and could happen as soon as this week”

While AEW Dynamite’s debut on TBS did not see Moxley return, AEW Rampage airs on Friday, and is the first of the promotion’s quarterly specials on TNT – Battle Of The Belts – airs on Saturday, January 8th.

Only two matches have so far been confirmed for Battle Of The Belts with Riho challenging Dr. Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s World Championship and Cody Rhodes defending his TNT Championship against Sammy Guevara.

A number one contender for the GCW Championship that Jon Moxley currently holds has been named for the company’s Hammerstein Ballroom show on the 23rd of January. Former Ring Of Honor World Champion Homicide has been named as the challenger to the title with the belief that the match will be made official once Moxley returns to action.
