Update On Jey Uso’s Absence From WWE Elimination Chamber

Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso - The Usos

Jey Uso made a surprise return to SmackDown on February 10th to join Jimmy in defending the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Braun Strowman and Ricochet.

The star had been absent since the Royal Rumble where he walked out on The Bloodline. After Sami Zayn attacked Roman Reigns, Jimmy and Solo Sikoa began an attack on their former brother, but Jey resisted. Instead, he left the ring and walked backstage.

On the following episode of SmackDown, Jey was absent with no one able to contact him.

However, he came back a week later seemingly mending fences with his brother. Although he also ran into Sami Zayn backstage who offered words of support. Later in the show, Paul Heyman said that Roman Reigns had ordered that the two men stay at home to watch next week on television. It was widely believed that this was done to write the pair off television as Jimmy wasn’t allowed to enter Canada, where SmackDown and Elimination Chamber will be held.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that both Usos can actually enter Canada, so the move on SmackDown was purely for the storyline.

“On Smackdown, Paul Heyman told Jimmy Uso that Reigns wants both Usos to stay home. This is an angle in some form. Both Usos can legally go to Canada so that’s not a cover story to explain them not being there, but a storyline playing off the idea some people expect the story is a cover to explain them not being there. This isn’t saying they will be there, but it is to put the idea in your head that they won’t be.”

Can Jey Uso Enter Canada?

Both Jimmy and Jey Uso have previous DUI convictions which in the past have prevented them from entering Canada. While Jey appeared in a backstage segment in Winnipeg back in September 2022, Jimmy Uso was believed to be barred from the country as a result of picking up five DUI charges, the last of those coming in 2021.
