A new report provides an update about Jeff Hardy standing trial following his DUI arrest in June.

Jeff Hardy was arrested on June 13th after allegedly driving under the influence. According to Volusia County jail records, Hardy was charged with Driving While License Canceled/Suspended/Revoked, Violation of Restrictions Placed on Drivers License, and DUI Alcohol/Drugs Third Offense within 10 Years.

It was later reported that Hardy had nearly four times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood at the time of his arrest.

On June 28th, Jeff Hardy entered a written plea of not guilty and also waived the right to be present at pretrial conferences. He was scheduled for a hearing before Volusia County Court on August 17th, but according to a new report from PWInsider, that hearing has been pushed back 60 days following a request from Hardy’s lawyers. They also waived his right to a speedy trial.

In the motion to request that the trial be pushed back, Hardy’s lawyers wrote the following:

“Mr. Hardy is charged by Information with one count of Driving in Violation of Driver’s License Restriction; one count of Driving While License Canceled, Suspended or Revoked; and one count of Driving Under the Influence (third offense).

The State of Florida tendered discovery August 2, 2022.

Undersigned counsel requests additional time to review discovery and compile mitigation.”

There was no objection from the prosecution. As of now there is no new court date scheduled, but PWInsider notes that it is expected to take place in late October or early November.

Jeff Hardy is currently undergoing treatment for alcoholism and was suspended from AEW in the wake of his arrest.
