Update On Incident Behind 2nd Fan Being Ejected During Raw Dark Match

WWE Raw Crowd

After a strange night in Barclays Center for Monday Night Raw where a fan assaulted Seth Rollins, an update has now been given following reports a second fan had also been ejected.

On the latest edition of Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins was assaulted by a fan on the entrance ramp. Rollins had just beat down Finn Balor in the ring, causing a match between the two to be called off, and was exiting the arena via the ramp when the attack occurred.

The confrontation was briefly caught on television before the camera quickly cut away. However, it was confirmed by those in attendance that the fan jumped the rail and tackled Rollins before security intervened, dragging the attacker away.

Following the incident, WWE released a statement that the individual had been handed over to the New York Police Department and would be prosecuted for the assault.

“WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
ESPN has now reported that 24-year-old Elisah Spencer is being held on charges of attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs (disrupting a live sporting event), according to the New York Police Department.
Reports then emerged that a second fan had been ejected from Barclays Center after being at the centre of a fracas during the dark match after the show went off the air.
Now Mike Johnson of PWInsider has shed more light on what happened in that incident. His report states that the fan had been “verbally harassing” Montez Ford of The Street Profits earlier in the night and continued when Ford came out for the post-show bout.
The fan was said to have been dared to jump the barrier by unnamed WWE Superstars and was led away by building security after moving closer to the ringside area.
