Back on March 3rd, it was reported that Brock Lesnar had hinted he could be about to retire.
The report noted that Lesnar had told some people backstage at a recent Monday Night Raw taping that he was “finishing up.” Although there was no word on exactly what Lesnar meant by that, some took it to suggest that he was preparing to hang up his boots.
However, since that initial report, speculation has gone quiet on Lesnar and his future.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that plans regarding are always kept secret, with only a handful of people involved. Meltzer surmised that should Lesnar lose definitively to Omos at WrestleMania, that could be a sign that he’s taking an extended break.
“Regarding rumors of Lesnar. There were reports Lesnar had told people he’d be leaving soon and within the company the word had circulated. The only thing we know is that everything about Lesnar and what he’s doing is kept top secret and that Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, Paul Levesque know and maybe two others know and nobody else does. The last time Lesnar left for an extended period was when he put over McIntyre as big and as clean as he possibly could, so if there is a finish similar to that, that would be the m.o.”
