Arn Anderson has provided an update on the health of his friend and fellow member of the Four Horsemen, Barry Windham, following his recent heart attack.
Windham is the uncle of WWE star Bray Wyatt. It was Wyatt’s sister, Mika Rotunda, who announced on December 5th that Windham had undergone emergency surgery following the heart attack while launching a GoFundMe page to help cover the WWE Hall of Famer’s medical expenses.
Mika provided an update later that week to let fans know Windham has stabilised and was able to talk and stand.
Arn Anderson provides update on Barry Windham
On the latest edition of his ‘ARN’ podcast, Anderson said he had heard Windham was “making his way back slowly”, while admitting the incident “scared the s**t” out of him.
“Getting it third party that he is is making his way back slowly. He’s hopefully going to be much, much better as time goes by.
“It was a really, really bad scare. I know that it scared the s**t out of all of us as soon as we heard it.
“It was a very, very close call. I think he’s getting a little bit better along. I don’t think he’s in a position [where] he can travel or anything like that yet.”
Anderson went on to say he and Windham’s family appreciated everyone’s thoughts and prayers.
“A lot of thought has went into Barry Windham and his condition, you know, a lot of prayers, and we appreciate that coming from everybody. I know the family does.
“Hopefully, Barry will be up and around before we know it.”
In a career that spanned the best part of three decades, Windham wrestled for some of the biggest promotions in the world, opposite some of the very best to ever lace up a pair of boots.
He is a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, two-time WWF Tag Team Champion and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012 as part of the Four Horsemen.
