Naomi hasn’t wrestled since teaming with Sasha Banks on May 15th, 2022 at a WWE live event. 24-hours later the pair walked out of a Monday Night Raw taping reportedly following a row over creative.
While Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone, has seemingly set her sights on continuing her career elsewhere, the situation surrounding Naomi is much less clear. The star has been pictured out and about with Mone numerous times since the walkout and was in Japan to support her friend when she made her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
Despite having an extended time away from WWE, the star retains ties to the company through her husband Jimmy Uso. The tag team star remains a high profile figure in The Bloodline and one half of the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
Naomi Was Set For Big Pay Day Before Walkout
With regard to Naomi, a new report has offered an update on the manoeuvring behind the scenes which took place just prior to her exit. Fightful Select note that at the time of the walkout, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion’s contract was coming to an end. Furthermore, both parties seemed excited about a potential deal with the 35-year-old set to land the biggest contract of her career.
Sources claimed back in the Autumn that there remained a positive relationship between the star and WWE but this could not be confirmed. However, one WWE “higher up” said that there has been contact and they are “confident” she will return to the company.
Speculation around a potential comeback has increased significantly in recent weeks with the Royal Rumble just around the corner. It has also been announced that “every generation” of The Bloodline will be appearing on the special 30th anniversary edition of Monday Night Raw on January 23rd. Naomi has continually been linked with an on-screen appearance with the group given her marriage to Jimmy Uso.
