As was first reported by WrestleVotes on October 12, WWE is interested in bringing Chelsea Green back to the company. ‘The Hot Mess’ had been let go from the sports entertainment giant in April 2021, having failed to get going in WWE owing to a couple of sustained injuries. At the time of the announcement, she was largely competing for IMPACT Wrestling.
Fightful Select has since issued an update on her situation, reaffirming the news that WWE is interested in bringing her back. It’s currently unknown if a deal has yet been offered to her and if so, a possible return date remains unknown.
When reaching out to Chelsea Green, she replied to Fightful by stating that she’s yet to be contacted about a return and has independent dates penciled in until March 2023. This includes dates for WrestleCade and the National Wrestling Alliance.
She finished up with IMPACT Wrestling during their recent Sin City Showdown tapings, wrestling a Loser Leaves IMPACT bout vs. Mickie James. The contest is set to air on the forthcoming IMPACT on AXS TV broadcast on November 10.
Chelsea Green Among Several Possible WWE Returns
Following the new WWE regime coming into effect at the end of July, a number of former WWE Superstars who’ve left over the past year or two were brought back into the fold. According to Fightful Select, this is going to continue moving forward.
Internal discussions had taken place with regard to the rehiring of numerous experienced performers to restock the women’s division. Emma became the latest return, answering Ronda Rousey’s open challenge on the October 28 Friday Night SmackDown.
Per Fightful, a number of other stars had also been contacted for a return, including Mia Yim and Tegan Nox. Yim also recently departed IMPACT Wrestling, having returned during May’s Under Siege special. Nox, meanwhile, has remained absent from wrestling since being let go from WWE in November 2021, having had VISA issues.
