Update On When Asuka Could Be Making Long-Awaited Return

A new report has shed light on when WWE Superstar Asuka could make her return to the ring after a prolonged absence that has stretched over 8 months.

Former Raw Women’s Champion Asuka hasn’t been seen inside a WWE ring since Money In The Bank on July 18th 2021. While there has been official confirmation from WWE regarding the reason for Asuka’s absence, it has been reported that the Japanese star was dealing with an injury.

In the lead-up to the 2022 Royal Rumble it was suggested that the former champion had been cleared to return and there was a chance that should would be appearing at the event. However, the show came and went without the former NXT star. A report following the Royal Rumble noted that Asuka was considered “not physically ready” to return.

Now Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has issued an update on Asuka’s status on social media, saying:

“People within WWE told me in February they were hoping for a Spring Asuka return. A lot can happen in 6 weeks though”

The Empress of Tomorrow signed with WWE in 2015, before going on to become the longest-reigning NXT Women’s Champion in history. In the process, she remained undefeated during her entire two-year stay with the black and gold brand.

In September 2017, the star moved to the main roster, where she again enjoyed huge success becoming WWE’s third Women’s Triple Crown Champion. The only Women’s Title she hasn’t won during her time with WWE is the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship, which was introduced after she left the brand.
