The upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown will feature a notable broadcast change as the show continues its road to Elimination Chamber 2025 on March 1.
This week’s SmackDown, taking place at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, will showcase several high-stakes matchups, including:
- Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Jacob Fatu vs. Braun Strowman vs. Damian Priest
- WWE Women’s Championship Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Nia Jax
- Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Chelsea Green vs. Naomi
However, the show will undergo a temporary broadcast adjustment, as regular lead announcer Joe Tessitore will be absent due to his commitment to ESPN. The sports network is set to air a live boxing event featuring Denys Berinchyk vs. Keyshawn Davis from The Theater at Madison Square Garden on the same night.
ESPN officially confirmed Tessitore’s absence in a press release, but WWE has yet to announce his replacement for SmackDown. Michael Cole is widely expected to step in as a temporary play-by-play announcer, given his extensive experience with the company.
With the Elimination Chamber premium live event fast approaching, SmackDown remains a pivotal show in determining the final lineup for one of WWE’s most exciting annual events.
