A former five-time WWE (WWF) Champion shared his dislike for Gunther and called him unprofessional.
Gunther has been captivating fans ever since he debuted in NXT UK, and his rise continued on the main roster, where he won the WWE Intercontinental and the World Heavyweight Titles.
However, despite the Austrian grappler putting on fantastic performances, Bret Hart doesn’t seem to be a fan. Speaking on The Rap on Wrestling Podcast while attending the Summer Bash convention, held before SummerSlam, The Hitman called the two-time World Heavyweight Champion unprofessional. He said:
That one is professional [CM Punk] and another guy [Gunther] that’s kind of unprofessional, you know.”
When asked who he thought would win the bout, The Hitman predicted it would be CM Punk, even though he didn’t want only babyface characters to win all the time:
You know, that’s a good question, but I’m gonna go with Punk. I don’t want to go with all the babyfaces all the time.”

Bret Hart Had Previously Told Gunther That He Thought One Of His Moves Was Bulls**t
Bret Hart’s alleged dislike for the Austrian grappler is not new. In a previous interview, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke about how he thought using a chop as a move was a waste of time, as it ended up hurting the opponent.
He added how his father, Stu Hart, had pointed out that a chop could not be a move that would win a match, something that he, too, believes in. Hart recalled his contests with Flair, where the day after the match, his chest would hurt.
The former WWE Champion added that he doesn’t respect wrestlers who hurt their opponents, saying that it was unprofessional. He shared that he had a brutal conversation with Gunther, where he expressed his thoughts about the 37-year-old using the chops as a move directly to his face:
So, I have no respect for guys that hurt each other all the time. It’s just, to me, lazy s**t wrestling when guys like that Gunther keep… and I’ve told him this to his face: it’s bulls**t. Like, when you’re hurting somebody for real, you’re unprofessional, and I wrestled guys and never hurt anybody.
When I used to come back to the dressing room, my kicks, my stomps, when I jumped off and hit… you know, all the stuff I did, the beauty of what I did is that it looks like it really hurts a lot, but I never hurt anybody, ever. I could’ve done the same stuff to my mother.”
While Bret Hart is entitled to his opinion, his claim that Gunther is unprofessional, especially based on the fact that the latter uses his chops as a weapon, is questionable.
