Unlikely WWE Star Sets Sights On Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns with the WWE Universal Undisputed Championship

With WWE’s roster getting shaken up following the Draft, both shows’ world title scenes have changed as well. RAW will enter a new chapter in its storied history as its top stars will be fighting for the newly-created World Heavyweight Championship.

Several wrestlers have already announced their intention to become champion on the red brand. Meanwhile, something similar is brewing on SmackDown.

Following the draft, Roman Reigns became SmackDown-exclusive. Because of that, he will no longer appear on RAW after Backlash. That means that he will soon find himself needing new challengers for his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

And even though the Draft changes won’t officially take effect until Monday, May 8th, one wrestler has already given his intention to take on Roman Reigns at the earliest possible opportunity.

Baron Corbin wants to fight Roman Reigns

Baron Corbin finds himself in an interesting position. He is currently a free agent, not signed to either RAW or SmackDown. Because of that, he could still appear on either show as a “floater” of sorts.

Given this situation, Corbin spoke with French outlet Catch Club to explain what he wants to do next. And among his goals is facing Roman Reigns for the top prize in the company.

“I just got to Raw. I’d like to stay on Raw. I like to see who else comes over. We got Shinsuke coming over. I owe Shinsuke for screwing up my whole King thing, stealing my crown, and being a bully.

I want a shot at that new title. One of my favorite titles in WWE history is that World Heavyweight Championship and I always remember Batista wearing it, Edge having it, and it was always so cool to me. Just sort of get one that kind of signifies that would be amazing.

“Then one day, I think it would be epic to be Champion versus champion, myself as Heavyweight Champion on Raw and Roman Reigns as Universal Champion and we go to war over the two. [That] would be amazing.”

The last time Baron Corbin wrestled Roman Reigns was almost five years ago on RAW in Dallas Texas. In that match. Reigns beat Corbin to retain his Universal Championship.
