United States Championship Match Announced For Hell In A Cell

Austin Theory United States Championship

Despite Theory’s best efforts to avoid it, he’ll be defending his United States Championship against Mustafa Ali at Hell in a Cell.

On the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Mustafa Ali faced Ciampa in singles action with the stipulation that if he won, he would earn a chance to face Theory for the United States Championship.

Theory himself was on commentary for the bout between Ali and Ciampa, and in the end, attacked Ali, causing him to win the match by disqualification and earn a United States Title shot. After attacking his new number one contender and running him into the ring post, Theory got on the microphone and said that he didn’t want to wait, and that the two should have their match right now.

Sure enough, the two faced off immediately after a commercial break, and despite Ali’s best efforts, the attack from Theory had taken its toll and he was unable to dethrone the United States Champion. Theory celebrated, clearly pleased with himself for orchestrating his scheme – but his celebration was short-lived when WWE Official Adam Pearce entered the arena with news that Mr. McMahon wanted to see a fair fight between the two, and had ordered a United States Championship rematch at Hell in a Cell.

Mustafa Ali has been seeking out Theory’s United States Title ever since making his surprise return to Raw on April 25th, when he interrupted Theory’s appearance on MizTV. The two were supposed to have a segment together on last week’s episode, but the segment was reportedly scrapped for time.
