Chelsea Green will face off against Michin in a Dumpster Match.

The unique match will take place on the October 4 episode of WWE SmackDown, and will continue the growing feud between Green and Michin. SmackDown commentary team Michael Cole and Corey Graves discussed the match last night, with Cole making it clear who he was backing to win. Cole also explained how the idea for the match came from Vickie Guerrero, who was in attendance on SmackDown last week alongside numerous other WWE legends.

Also on SmackDown, a video package was shown of Green training for her upcoming dumpster match, and the “Hot Mess” went on to post about it on social media. Michin wasted no time in responding, letting Green know that she’s “always ready to get down n dirty” and advising “don’t wear your best outfit, princess”. As shown in the post, Michin is no stranger to these more extreme types of matches, having recently faced off against Jaida Parker and Nia Jax in street fights, so should feel comfortable with the strange stipulation.

What is a dumpster match?

Similar to a casket or coffin match, a dumpster match is won by forcing your opponent into a dumpster and closing the lid. Dumpster matches are fought under no-disqualification hardcore rules. There have only been a handful of dumpster matches throughout WWE’s history, the first dating back to 1998 at WrestleMania XIV, where Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie defeated The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) to become the new WWF Tag Team Champions. The last dumpster match on WWE programming was Kalisto vs Bruan Strowman on an episode of Raw back in April 2017.

What else happened on SmackDown?

Green and Michin’s feud was part of an eventful episode of SmackDown last night, taking place at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. The United States Title was on the line between champion LA Knight and Andrade, and a unique face to face took place between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
