It has been confirmed that both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles will be on the line at WrestleMania Backlash in a huge unification match!
After Roman Reigns unified the WWE and Universal Championship’s at WrestleMania 38, The Bloodline set their sights on conquering the tag team division.
The Usos are currently in the midst of the longest SmackDown Tag Team Title reign in history, but that isn’t enough. At the behest of Roman Reigns, the pair headed to Raw to lay down a challenge to the champions on the red brand, RK-Bro.
After the Usos defeated the Street Profits in the main event, they laid out Randy Orton with a double superkick. Something that did not sit well with The Viper.
The April 15th episode of SmackDown opened with RK-Bro coming to the ring. While Riddle got very excited about being back on SmackDown, Orton called out the Usos. The SmackDown Tag Team Champions quickly obliged, grabbing a microphone and bragging about their achievements.
However, a fired up Randy Orton shot back making fun of the brothers, also noting that he had shared the ring with their family during his two decade long career. At this, Orton accepted the challenge for the unification match.
After a stare down, the Usos left the ring leaving RK-Bro to pose in the corners, but the SmackDown stars weren’t done. The pair ran back to the ring and laid out Riddle.
It was later confirmed that the two teams will meet at WrestleMania Backlash to crown the Undisputed Tag Team Champions.
To date, only two other matches have been announced for WrestleMania Backlash, and they’re both rematches from WrestleMania 38. Charlotte Flair will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey in an “I Quit” Match, while Cody Rhodes will meet Seth Rollins one more time.
