The Undisputed Era will finally take to the squared circle to battle Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan on tonight’s NXT. The winner will receive a NXT Tag Team Championship Match against Breezango down the line.
The match, originally scheduled for several weeks prior, was delayed when Bobby Fish was struck down with a knee injury prior to NXT TakeOver 31 when training in kickboxing and Brazilian-jiu-jitsu.
On the September 23 edition of the black and gold brand, a No.1 Contenders Match was determined when Roderick Strong teamed with Brit Danny Burch to defeat the team of Fabian Aichner and Raul Mendoza.
The victory granted both Undisputed Era and the team of Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan the chance at premier contendership to NXT Tag Team Champions, Breezango.
Undisputed Era have been at the forefront of NXT in the past few weeks, with Kyle O’Reilly challenging Finn Balor for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver 31 and leader Adam Cole entering a storyline with the now injured Ridge Holland and mystery benefactor who paid the Yorkshire native to take out the group’s head.
Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch haven’t been silent, however. The pair were inadvertently at the epicentre of Ridge Holland’s injury last week when Lorcan came to the aid of Burch following a post match attack.
Though it’s not official when the winner will receive their NXT Tag Team Championship Match, if the team’s meeting at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II is anything to go by, we’re in for a match of the year contender.
