Unaired footage reveals CM Punk’s awkward ring exit fall following AJ Lee’s return segment on WWE RAW.

Fan clips from Monday Night RAW have surfaced showing Punk taking an awkward fall while exiting the ring after the Lee segment. The video, posted on social media, shows the Best in the World attempting to maneuver over the ropes but ending up falling on his back over the ring apron.

The incident occurred following Lee’s first RAW appearance in over ten years. Lee returned to WWE on September 6, 2025, during SmackDown to help her husband, Punk, in his ongoing feud with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. The footage captures Punk trying to execute what appeared to be a routine ring exit. However, his attempt to vault over the ropes went wrong, resulting in a harsh landing on the ring apron. Wrestling fans on X were quick to point out the mishap, with one caption reading “Punk nearly breaking his back getting out of the ring.” The Chicago native has been involved in high-profile storylines since his return at the 2023 Survivor Series after nearly a decade-long absence.

The Lee segment marked a significant moment in WWE programming, as it was her first appearance on the red brand since retiring in April 2015 due to cervical spine issues. Her return has generated tremendous excitement among fans who prayed for her comeback to support her husband’s quest for the world title.

During the same Lee segment, Lynch asked for her Intercontinental title back. Lee laid it down on the ring mat and gave two options to her. She either gets in the ring to retrieve it. or agrees to a mixed-tag match. Lynch was reluctant to accept either of the options, so Rollins stepped inside the ring to get the title back. Lee blocked his path, and Punk made his silent appearance and was about to send Rollins to sleep with the GTS move.

The World Heavyweight Champion barely escaped the ambush, went ringside, next to his wife. In anger and rage, the Visionary accepted the mixed-tag match, making it official for WrestlePalooza. This marks Lee’s first WWE match in over 3827 days, with her last match being on March 30, 2015.
