Two members of the NXT roster could soon be receiving their WWE call-up as part of the next stage of programming.
Following the events that took place over WrestleMania weekend and the Raw after Mania, fans have been given an indication of what to expect over the next few weeks with multiple surprise appearances and returns having taken place over the past few days.
Along with the likes of Becky Lynch and Rusev making their returns, the April 21st Raw also saw surprise appearances from NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer and former champion Giulia. While the appearances of Vaquer and Giulia were likely one-offs, given that Vaquer is the reigning NXT Women’s Champion and feuding with Giulia, 2 more names could soon be a permanent fixture on the main roster.
As reported by Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net, former NXT Champion Trick Williams is being considered for a call-up along with Lola Vice.
Both Williams and Vice were unsuccessful in their respective title matches back at Stand & Deliver. Vice was part of the 6-woman ladder match to crown a new Women’s North American Champion, which was won by Sol Ruca. Competing in the main event of the show, both Williams and Je’Von Evans were unable to dethrone NXT Champion Oba Femi.
While there have not been any discussions regarding which brand Williams or Vice could appear on, it should be noted that as neither appeared on the Raw after Mania there is a strong chance that they will make an appearance on SmackDown. Additionally, Williams has history with Carmelo Hayes, who won the Andre The Giant Battle Royal on the go-home SmackDown for WrestleMania.
WWE Officially Retires Championship
WrestleMania 41 saw multiple title changes take place over the weekend. However, while many titles were featured, one WWE Championship has been quietly retired.
In other news, an interesting name was previously training at the WWE Performance Center.
