Next week, AEW Dynamite emanates from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. For several weeks this has been hyped as a big show. And after tonight’s announcements, that big show just got bigger.
The first announcement came following a confrontation between three groups. After Chris Jericho won a match, he and his Appreciation Society started gloating about how they were the greatest trio in the company.
Then they announced themselves as the new #1 Contenders for the AEW Trios Championships and commanded The House of Black to show themselves.
But before the new champions could show up, the JAS members were interrupted by the former Trios Champions, The Elite – Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
After some back-and-forth between Jericho and fellow Winnipegger Don Callis, both teams were confronted by the House of Black who dared either side to “come and take them”, referring to the Trios titles.
After the segment ended, it was made official that the Winnipeg Dynamite show will feature a three-way trios match between House of Black, The Elite, and the Jericho Appreciation Society.
But that wasn’t the only big announcement as Tony Khan appeared on camera to make another announcement as well.
“Next week, we will ‘level up’ the championship” – Tony Khan on AEW Dynamite
Shortly after that first announcement, Tony Khan made an important announcement regarding Orange Cassidy and the AEW All Atlantic Championship. After remarking on Cassidy’s successful title challenge, Tony announced that the Winnipeg show will also include an open challenge, which was accepted by Jeff Jarrett.
But it won’t be for the All-Atlantic Championship, because, according to Tony, that title is being ‘leveled up’. As of next week, the All-Atlantic Championship will become the AEW International Championship.
