With WWE Money In The Bank just around the corner, competition is hotting up for places in the men’s and women’s Ladder Matches.
On Raw, Shinsuke Nakamura and Ricochet qualified for the men’s match, and on SmackDown they were joined by LA Knight. The former NXT star’s popularity continued to hit new levels as he overcame Montez Ford, with fans even booing the Street Profit’s high-flyer during the match.
It has long been reported that WWE sees LA Knight as a potential winner of the match.
Elsewhere, Zelina Vega got the win over Lacey Evans who was sporting yet another new look. The match came hot on the heels of the Grayson Waller Effect featuring Auska which was interrupted by Iyo Sky, Bayley, Evans, and Vega. As Asuka headed for the exit she was attacked by Bianca Belair, with the pair eventually separated by officials.
As the WWE crew were taking down the set, Evans hit Vega with the Women’s Right, but it wasn’t enough. Once the match started Vega fought back and hit the Code Red to grab the win.
The Bloodline Explodes On WWE SmackDown
In the main event segment Roman Reigns celebrated his 1000 days as World Champion. The festivities got underway with Reigns being presented with a new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship belt, however, the party was quickly crashed by The Usos.
Once in the ring, Reigns ordered Jey to kick Jimmy in the face for doing the same to him at Night of Champions. While Jey looked pensive and uncertain, Jimmy stood tall in the face of his new rival.
Jimmy spoke up first explaining that he was being a brother, not the Tribal Chief, and was protecting his family. He went on to call out Reigns for using the pair, telling Solo Sikoa he will do the same to him.
A visibly annoyed Reigns then handed a microphone to Sikoa and told him to speak for himself. The Bloodline’s (mostly) silent enforcer said that he acknowledged his Tribal Chief but Jimmy was his brother, moving to stand next to The Usos. With Reigns shaken, a massive “Holy sh*t” chant thundered around the arena.
After Jey stepped in to try and keep the peace, Jimmy made a plea to unite the family and as he hugged Reigns it seemed that the reunion was on. However, an emotional Reigns delivered an emphatic “no” and Sikoa flattened Jimmy with a Spike.
