Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza have only wrestled three times on WWE television in 2023 with two of those appearances coming in Battle Royals. But perhaps more worryingly for the pair, that shows no sign of changing, at least in the near future.
The two Mexican stars began teaming together in 2021 and were moved to SmackDown as part of the Draft. Competing as Los Lotharios, the duo was featured briefly before sliding down the card and disappearing from view. Despite moving to Raw as part of the 2023 Draft, their fortunes haven’t changed.
Although they appeared in the recent Intercontinental Title number one contender Battle Royal, it seems that WWE has nothing for them.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that while are both talented performers, they are simply two of many in the current WWE system.
“They’re low on the pecking order, and I think that’s pretty much it. They’re there, but they just don’t do anything with them, and they’re talented guys too. WWE’s got a lot of talented guys, and some of them are — It’s always going to be a case where some of them just aren’t used, and I mean WWE, but AEW is the same way. There are talented guys in AEW that don’t do a lot. AThere are more talented guys on rosters, and there are spots that are pushed.
So there’s going to be people like that, and they could send him to NXT, I suppose. And that’s not necessarily the worst idea. But right now they’re kind of just, like a lot of guys, there’s just guys that are there. Shelton, Benjamin, Cedric Alexander, just guys that are there, they’re on the roster, and they just don’t do anything with.”
