This top WWE star is on the hunt again.
At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Gunther successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor and Damian Priest. Just a few hours after his World title match loss, Balor lost his tag-team championships as well on Raw.
Ending his reign at 172 days, JD McDonagh and Balor lost their gold to The War Raiders on the 16th December episode of Raw. Not being booked strongly under Triple H, Balor hopes to redeem himself soon. With no singles victory on PLEs since Extreme Rules 2022, the former United States Champion shared his intention to win gold again.
Sharing a brief statistical record and his intentions on X (Twitter), Balor wrote:
10 years 1265 days 11 title reigns 35% of the time as champion Trust the math Trust Finn I will be CHAMPION again.”
Currently teasing a breakup with his Judgment Day members, Balor has been displaying signs of going solo again. While a recent report from WrestleVotes also suggested a huge incoming push for The Demon King in 2025, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Balor is a one-time Universal Champion, one-time United States Champion, two-time NXT Champion, two-time Intercontinental Champion, and three-time tag-team Champion.
Currently involved in a heated feud with Damian Priest, the inaugural Universal Champion has lost his only singles match against Priest.
Hall Of Famer Worried Of Watching Finn Balor’s WWE Career Get Wasted
In a recent interview on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Hall of Famer Teddy Long commented on Finn Balor’s current booking. Fearing Balor’s talent will be wasted, Long hopes the former champion will soon receive deserved recognition.
Well, we never know, Finn does a great job and he’s been involved in a lot of good stuff, so we just never know. I hope so, I hope they’re not just wasting him, you know what I mean? I hope this kind of moves him up in the ranks.”
In other news: Triple H has named the WWE Hall of Famer who held D-Generation X together.
