Trish Stratus Teases WWE Return

Trish Stratus looks back on her recent WWE run.

Following a loss to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019, the Hall of Famer made her return to the ring at WrestleMania 39, teaming with Lita and Becky Lynch to defeat Damage CTRL.

With Lita taken out by a mystery attacker, Stratus would briefly team with Lynch to defend the Women’s Tag Team titles before betraying her former friend. What followed was a career resurgence for Stratus that included a match in Saudi Arabia and taking part in the Money in the Bank ladder match for the first time in her career.

Culminating in the best women’s cage match in WWE history at Payback, many fans wanted to see Stratus continue to wrestle and compete against more of the top stars of the current era. When asked if her career is truly over, the Hall of Famer hinted that there may be one more run.

Speaking at the premiere of The Iron Claw, Stratus revealed that the initial plan was only for WrestleMania, but may come back to challenge for a championship in the near future:

“When I embarked on the journey, I came back for WrestleMania, ‘Let’s do this little program.’ Suddenly, heel Trish had to come alive. Then, it just kept going and going. I got to do things I didn’t get to do, right? Ladder Match, Saudi Arabia, Cage Match. To be able to dip my toes into the current landscape and check boxes that I wasn’t able to check back in the day was pretty amazing. Yeah, I mean, I could become an eight-time champ. That sounds good to me. Why not?”

With Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky currently reigning as the top Women’s Champion, Stratus challenging for either title would be a dream match for many fans.

Trish Stratus Names Her Favourite Match

Regarded as one of the greatest women’s wrestlers of all time, Trish Stratus was recently asked to name the greatest match of her career. With so many legendary matches to choose from, Stratus chose a memorable clash from The Show of Shows during the Ruthless Aggression Era.

H/t to Fightful.
