Trish Stratus has teased a showdown with a top WWE Superstar, joking that this could be her perfect time to strike.
Trish Stratus hasn’t been a full-time WWE Superstar since defeating Lita for the Women’s Championship at Unforgiven in September 2006. The bout marked Stratus’ seventh championship win and the final match of her illustrious career, bowing out with victory in her hometown of Toronto after forcing her long-time rival to submit in the Sharpshooter.
Since then Stratus has occasionally returned to the ring, most notably facing Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019, and competing in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble the year before.
However, the WWE legend has repeatedly hinted that she could step back in the ring for potential dream match against Sasha Banks. Meanwhile, the star has also interacted with Becky Lynch on numerous occasions, as they both appear open to what would be a huge bout.
Since losing her Raw Women’s Championship to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38, on television, Lynch has been on a downward spiral. The star becoming increasingly more desperate to reclaim the gold.
Speaking to Bill Apter for Sportskeeda, Stratus admitted that this could be the perfect time to strike.
“I mean if someone’s out of line – Becky Lynch, I might [step in the ring]. It would really be nothing. She’s a little out of sorts right now, got a lot on her mind and I think I could take advantage of that, don’t tell her I said that, and maybe just slip in there and just beat her.”
Back in May, Stratus admitted that watching Lita get back in the ring at Elimination Chamber to take on Lynch gave her the itch to potentially do the same.
