At the 2023 event in London, Stratus competed in the Money in the Bank ladder match for the first time in her legendary career alongside ally Zoey Stark.

Stratus last appeared in WWE at the Payback event back in September, which saw the culmination her the Hall of Famer’s rivalry with Becky Lynch. Following on from repeated interference from Stark in the lead-up, it was later announced that Stratus and Lynch would settle their differences inside a steel cage. Opening the show, the match drew high praise from the fans and critics with many believing it was one of the best women’s matches of the year. Lynch won the match and Stark ended the alliance with Stratus shortly afterwards.

Stratus made her return in the lead-up to WrestleMania 39 and aligned herself with long-time friend and rival Lita and Lynch. Following a mystery attack on Lita, Stratus turned heel on Lynch to set up their rivalry.

In a recent interview, Trish Stratus jokingly stated that she did not know the meaning of the word retirement, hinting that she had not competed in her final match.

Speaking after her victory, Tiffany Stratton was asked about a potential match against Trish Stratus.
